Whidbey Island alone is a great place to get away from it all without being too far from the city, visiting some of Washington State's finest beaches and a number of other picturesque spots along the coast.

For a longer stay at the Deception Pass, you can take in the tidal pools on Rosario Beach, stroll along the north and west beaches, take a boat ride in Cornet Bay or marvel at the remaining old stands of old trees - growth trees along the coast.

The historic Deception Pass Bridge connects Whidbey and Fidalgo Islands and you'll forget that you only have to travel north across the water to the town of Bellingham. To do so, take the scenic route that starts east of the bridge and leads through the Strait of Rosario. There are many viewpoints to stop and walk through to enjoy the beautiful water, the forest and the landscape. Fraser Gourmet Hideaway is just a short drive from Deceptions Pass Park on the west side, so consider stopping there on your way to the park.
